THE ONLY PEPPER SPRAY!,
This is the one Law Enforcement uses. It can be used as a blunt weapon as well for close up and too friendly attackers. What is important about it: a- YOU CAN’T SPRAY IT AT YOURSELF BY ACCIDENT!!!! because of where the button is and the fact that you press it with your thumb and not your forefinger. b- you can refil it whcih is imporatnt because pepper spray is not good after about 3 years (so put a date on yours). c- you can get inert spray refills so you can practice with it, see how far it goes, and get an exact idea of what you can expect from the device. IT also has the highest pepper spray rating, etc. There isn’t anything better out there that I know of.

|Very Dependable and Gives Secure Feeling,
I live in San Francisco were we do a lot of walking instead of driving.
As any of you who have visited San Francisco know, there’s a questionable element who lurk around the tourist areas. Also, there are the bad parts of town. And anyone with a night life knows that walking to the car is a tense endeavor, at best. So having some type of deterrent/protection is a good idea.
The Defender is a very nice product. It’s well designed, nicely constructed, functional, durable and easy to use.
I won’t go in to everything, suffice it to say the unit holds up very well since the case is machined aluminum, similar to the MAG lights.
The switch-on-to-use mechanism works flawlessly and I have toggled mine on and off over the years, just to do it. Despite this, the unit has held up well over the ten years I have had it.
After a few years passed I replaced the cartridge containing the pepper spray. I activated the old one and it was still powerful, giving me about 10 seconds of spray, which is pretty good for such a small cartridge (the keyring model).
So I highly recommend this product.
P.s. The lock to turn on the device (arm it) while simple has never come unlocked by accident. I like that.
UPDATE: In January 2010 I dropped my keys in the middle of a busy San Francisco street. The Defender was on the keyring. I did not find my keys until I retraced my steps. When I saw the keyring in the middle of the street I quickly retrieved them. Many keys had been broken off. The Defender’s tube was intact, but the actuator, which is brass and plastic, was destroyed.
Guess the Key Defender cannot withstand two hours of being driven over by maybe 50 five to ten ton trucks and 500 cars.
